CSG Support Network
Being a part of the Community Share Group Network means offering support to people who may need someone to talk to outside of a CSG evening program. It could also mean meeting up at a café for a friendly chat.
Personal Safety Guidelines
-
Protect Your Privacy – Only share your personal phone number with people you feel comfortable supporting. If unsure, use a separate phone or number for CSG contact.
-
First Contact by Phone – When calling someone new, keep the conversation friendly but professional. Avoid sharing personal details (home address, family details, financial info).
-
Meet in Safe Locations – Always choose a public, well-lit, and busy place like a café for face-to-face chats.
-
Let Someone Know – Tell a friend, family member, or another CSG team member where you’re meeting and when you expect to finish.
-
Trust Your Instincts – If at any point you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, politely end the conversation and leave.
-
Boundaries Matter – Keep your role as a support person clear. You are there to listen and encourage, not to give legal, medical, or financial advice.
‘he aha te mea nui o te ao? Māku e kī atu, he tangata, he tangata, he tangata’
What is the most important thing in this world? It is people, it is people, it is people.
